Dr Clemens Kolbe

Dr Clemens Kolbe acts as a senior adviser to Strata. Between 2007 and 2009, he was CEO and President of Dematic GmbH. Dematic is a leading global supplier of logistics automation equipment for the food and beverage, chemical and pharmaceutical and manufacturing industries. He acted also as a Member of the Supervisory Board of Alimak Hek, a leading global supplier of vertical access solutions for the construction and other industries. Both companies where acquired earlier by private equity investors.

Dr Kolbe was formerly a board member and senior executive of Schindler Management AG and ThyssenKrupp in Europe and North America. He has significant experience with large R&D projects, IT investment, procurement, process engineering, joint ventures and acquisitions including post-transaction integration. Earlier in his career, Dr Kolbe concentrated on corporate development, acquisitions, market entry strategy and strategic asset investment portfolio studies. Most recently, he was an Executive Board Member of Schindler Management AG heading the group`s elevator and escalator operations in North and South America with annual business unit sales of  1.3 billion euros and approximately 12,000 employees. From 2001 to 2004, Dr Kolbe was a member of the Executive Committee of ThyssenKrupp Elevator AG responsible for Central and Eastern Europe with annual group sales of 3.6 billion euros and approximately 28,000 employees. Dr Kolbe joined Strata as a partner in February 2006.

Dr Clemens Kolbe holds a PhD and a Master in Economics and Industrial Economics from Hamburg University.
