
Mark Sargeant
Mark co-founded Strata in 2002/03.
Mark began his career with Coopers & Lybrand where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. In 1997, Mark joined Robert Fleming & Co. (now part of JPMorgan) as an investment banker where he was involved in the execution of a wide variety of transactions with an emphasis on public and private M&A and capital raising transactions in the UK Mid-Cap sector.
Mark has particular expertise in trade sales by way of competitive auction process and the execution of acquisition-led growth strategies. He has managed a range of successful trade disposals for clients such as AMTAC Laboratories, Simbec Research, BTG plc, Smiths Industries, Boehringer Ingelheim and Cinven. Mark is currently the lead adviser to Eurofins Scientific and has advised them on the acquisition of Direct Laboratories, GMSS, Agrisearch and Southern Water Scientific Services. Mark also advised Alcan on the successful carve-out of its UK R&D facility in Banbury. Mark has also acted on, inter alia, the $240m acquisition Guardian iT plc by SunGard DataSystems Inc, the acquisition of TieRack plc, the contested hostile public offer by Waterfall plc for European Leisure plc and the leveraged acquisition of Morrells of Oxford.
Mark graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge University in 1992 with an MA degree in Economics.
